Questions people ask about Don't Touch

Does the alarm sound if the phone is on silent?
Yes. The siren plays at full volume even with the ringer switch off, and it keeps going until the PIN is entered.
What sets it off?
Movement of the phone, the charging cable being pulled out, or the phone being lifted out of a pocket or a bag. You choose how sensitive it is and which of the alarm sounds it uses.
How does it stop?
Only with your secret PIN. Whoever picked the phone up cannot silence it by pressing the buttons.
Do I find out who touched it?
The front camera takes a photo at the moment the alarm goes off, so there is a face waiting for you when you come back.
Does it keep watching after I switch to another app?
No, and no app on iOS can. It has to be open and armed to watch the sensors — leave it running on the desk, screen on, and the alarm is live.
Is this a replacement for Find My?
No. It makes noise and takes a picture; it cannot lock, erase or locate a phone that has already gone. Keep Find My switched on for that and use this for the café table and the library desk.
