LED Banner: frequently asked questions
Short, honest answers to what people ask before and after installing LED Banner — the free limits, the ads, and the things it flatly does not do. On the battery question, no made-up numbers are given, because it has not been measured and a guess would be worse than saying so.
How do I get out of the full-screen banner?
Double-tap anywhere on the sign, or tap the close button (X) in the top-right corner. The X fades after three seconds so it does not spoil the sign, but it stays there and still works. One tap brings it back to full visibility.
Does LED Banner need internet?
Not for making, editing or showing banners: everything is drawn and saved on your device, and there is no account. A connection is used only for the ads in the free version and for buying or restoring LED Banner Pro. Offline, the Pro plans cannot load.
Does the screen dim while the banner is up?
No. When the full-screen banner opens, brightness goes to maximum and auto-lock is switched off. Both go back to how you had them when you close the sign or leave the app. The side button still locks the phone if you press it.
Does it read right-to-left scripts, Japanese or Chinese?
It does. The message is drawn by the iPhone's own text engine on a single line, so Arabic, Hebrew, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and emoji all display correctly and never wrap on top of each other. One thing it will not do: flip the scroll direction automatically for right-to-left text, so pick that yourself under Motion > Direction.
Is there a watermark?
There is not. The sign shows only your message, and since the app has no export, there is nothing a watermark could even be stamped onto.
How many banners can I save for free?
Three. When you try to create a fourth, the Pro screen opens: you can upgrade, delete one, or tap Watch ad for 1 free banner when an ad is available. That extra slot is one at a time and is used by the next banner you create. You can also edit the text of a saved banner as often as you like.
What ads does the free version show?
A banner ad at the bottom of the Create and Library tabs, a sponsored card at the end of the Library list, a full-screen ad after every third time you close the sign, and an ad when you come back to the app from the background, at most once every three minutes. Any Pro plan, weekly, yearly or lifetime, removes all of them.
Is there an LED banner app with no ads?
LED Banner itself has ads in the free version; buying any LED Banner Pro plan removes them completely. What stays true for everyone is that no full-screen ad is ever shown on top of the sign while you hold it up.
Why does the app ask to track me?
Only to personalise ads. If you tap Ask App Not to Track, nothing in the app changes: every feature keeps working and the ads you see are simply non-personalised.
Does it drain the battery?
Any screen at full brightness with auto-lock off drains faster than normal, and a moving sign keeps the screen busy the whole time. The app does stop redrawing when nothing moves, which helps still text. Expect noticeably faster drain over a multi-hour event such as a concert; bring a charger for anything longer. No battery-life figures are published for this app.
How far away can people read it?
It is exactly as big and bright as your screen, so an iPad reads further than a phone. Short words, a large Size, a heavy weight, bright colors on black and a slow speed make the biggest difference. Strong sunlight makes any screen hard to read.
Can I make the text stand still?
You can. In Motion, set Loop to None and the message sits still in the center of the screen. Go too big, though, and the ends get cut off — shorten the text or lower Size instead.
Can I scroll the text up or down?
Left and right are free. Up and down are part of LED Banner Pro and show a padlock in the Direction row of the free version.
How many fonts are there?
Three: System, SF Rounded and SF Mono, each with four weights and an italic option. You cannot import your own fonts.
Can several messages rotate automatically?
They cannot. The app shows one banner at a time, with no playlist or schedule — a deliberate limit, not a bug we forgot to fix. To change message, close the sign and open another banner from the Library; pinned banners stay at the top so switching is quick.
Are my banners synced to my other devices?
They are not. Banners live only on the device where you made them, with no iCloud sync or sharing, and deleting the app deletes them with it. Worth knowing before you switch phones, since there is no export to fall back on.
How do I restore LED Banner Pro on a new phone?
Open Settings and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account. The app tells you whether purchases were restored or there was nothing to restore. Manage Subscription opens Apple's subscription page if you want to change or cancel a plan.
