Pomodoro timer without ads: what the free version shows
A banner sits on the timer, stats and settings screens on the free version, and at most one full-screen ad shows up every 2 finished focus sessions, 10 minutes apart, never more than 8 a day. Any Premium purchase clears every ad at once; short of that, a short video unlocks a mode for 1 hour or skips a break.
Why ads matter more in a focus app
An ad mid-block would defeat the entire point of the timer, and it never happens. The full-screen ads only turn up after a focus session ends or when you switch modes, never while a block's counting down.
Exactly which ads the free version shows
| Type | Where or when | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Banner | Timer, stats and settings screens | A small strip; the timer stays readable |
| Full-screen | After a focus session ends, or when switching modes | At most every 2 finished focus sessions, at least 10 minutes apart, max 8 per day |
| Rewarded video | Only when you choose to watch one | Unlocks a mode for 1 hour, or skips the current break |
Work it out and one Study cycle of 4 focus blocks, 130 minutes, shows at most 2 full-screen ads. A whole day caps out at 8, no matter how many sessions you run.
Remove all ads with Premium
- Open the Settings tab and tap the Premium row at the top, or any feature marked Premium.
- Choose a plan on the Upgrade to Premium screen. Prices are shown there in your currency.
- Confirm with your Apple ID. Ads disappear straight away.
- On a new or reset device, use Restore Purchases to get Premium back without paying again.
Any Premium purchase, subscription or one-time, removes all three kinds at once and unlocks everything else Premium offers.
Use a video instead of paying
Only need a locked mode now and then? Tap it in Modes and choose Watch Video for 1 hour of access. During a break the same trick skips that break and puts you straight back to work.
What stays free if you never pay?
Enough to actually run the method: your own focus and break lengths, Study mode, one custom mode, the Lock Screen countdown, up to 3 pinned tasks and 7 days of stats. That's a fair free tier. The ads pay for it; Premium is for people who want them gone or need the extra modes, history, goals and export.
A couple of things people assume wrongly
- Restoring on a second device needs Restore Purchases with the same Apple ID, not a repeat purchase.
- A rewarded video unlocks a mode for 1 hour or skips a break; it doesn't switch off ads.
- Offline doesn't equal ad-free as a setting, it's just that ads need a connection, so you'll mostly see none without one.
