Can I see how many clicks my short link got?
Not inside URL Short: the app does not track clicks. For links made with is.gd, v.gd or Bit.ly it opens that service's own public stats page with View Stats; for the other services, click numbers, if they exist, are only on the service's own dashboard.
Why the app cannot count your clicks
To count clicks, something has to sit between the short link and the page and log each visit. That something is the shortening service's redirect server. URL Short does not run one and does not put itself in the middle: your link goes straight from the service to your page.
That is good for privacy and speed, even without a stats dashboard. It also means the only place click numbers can exist is the service that made the link.
Where to track clicks on a link for each service
| Service | Public stats page the app can open | Where the numbers live |
|---|---|---|
| is.gd | Yes | is.gd's public stats page for that link |
| v.gd | Yes | v.gd's public stats page for that link |
| Bit.ly | Yes | Bit.ly's public page for that link, and your Bit.ly account |
| TinyURL, Cutt.ly, T.ly, Rebrandly, Short.io | No | Your account dashboard on that service, if its plan includes stats |
| CleanURI, Spoo.me | No | No public stats page the app can build |
How to open a link's stats in the app
- Open History and tap the link.
- In the detail view, look for the Statistics URL. For is.gd, v.gd and Bit.ly it is filled in for you.
- Tap View Stats to open the service's page in the browser, or Copy Stats Link to keep it.
- For other services, you can paste your own link to the service's dashboard there, so it is one tap away next time.
If you see No statistics URL available, that service does not publish a stats page the app can reach.
What URL Short does count
Settings has a Statistics screen, but it is about your own use of the app, not your links' audience: how many links you created, QR codes exported, links shared and PDFs exported, over 7 days, 30 days or all time, and which services you used most.
Those counters are computed and kept on your device, and nothing goes to a server. Clear them with Reset Statistics, or copy them with Export Summary if you want a record before you do.
If you really need click tracking
- Make the link with a keyed service whose account includes analytics, and read the numbers on its dashboard.
- Or use is.gd or v.gd and check their public stats page for a simple count.
- If you run the website, its own analytics can tell you how many visitors came from a link; add a tag to the long link before shortening it.
