Bingo number generator and caller for 75-ball and 90-ball bingo
Open Bingo in Random, tap 75 or 90, then tap Generate for each ball. The app draws from the balls still in the drum, so no number comes out twice, shows the current ball large enough to read across a table, and keeps a board of every ball called. It is the drum and the scoreboard; players bring their own cards.
Why use a phone as the bingo drum
A family bingo night often starts with a box of paper cards and no cage of balls, which is the normal state of things. Drawing numbers from a hat is slow, and scraps of paper get lost or, worse, drawn twice.
The Bingo screen in Random behaves like a real drum: every ball that comes out is removed, and the next one is picked at random from what is left. You also get what a paper draw lacks, a running board of called numbers to check a winning card against.
How to call bingo with the app
- Open Random and tap Bingo in the Home list.
- Pick the game size: tap 75 for 75-ball bingo or 90 for 90-ball bingo. For any other size, type it next to Max numbers: (from 1 to 9999).
- Tap Generate. The ball appears in a large circle; call it out to the players.
- Keep tapping Generate for each new ball. The counter shows how many are out, for example 12 / 75, and the board below lists every ball called, with the newest highlighted.
- If you tapped twice by mistake, tap Undo: the last ball goes back into the drum.
- When someone shouts bingo, check their card against the board of called balls.
- For a new game, tap Restart and confirm Yes at Reset?.
The size can only be changed before the first ball, so set 75 or 90 before you start calling. Restart always brings the drum back to 75 balls; tap 90 again if you play 90-ball.
When the last ball is out, the app shows All numbers drawn and offers Restart.
What the numbers look like during a game
Each ball still in the drum has the same chance of coming out next. As the drum empties, that chance grows.
| Game | Balls already drawn | Counter shows | Chance for each remaining ball |
|---|---|---|---|
| 75-ball | 0 | 0 / 75 | 1.333% |
| 75-ball | 30 | 30 / 75 | 2.222% |
| 90-ball | 0 | 0 / 90 | 1.111% |
| 90-ball | 30 | 30 / 90 | 1.667% |
Because drawn balls are removed, a 75-ball game is always over after 75 draws and never repeats a number, however long it runs.
How to host bingo night at home
- Cards: print or buy cards that match the game, 1-75 cards for 75-ball and 1-90 tickets for 90-ball. The app does not make cards.
- Screen: prop the phone or, better, an iPad where players can see it. The current ball is shown large, and the board of called balls lets anyone check a number they missed.
- Pace: call each ball twice and leave a few seconds before the next tap. Players with several cards need the time.
- Winning patterns: agree beforehand on a line, two lines or a full house. The app does not track patterns, so the host checks the claim.
- Interruptions: the game is saved on the device. If a call comes in or the app closes, open Bingo again and the called balls are still there.
What the bingo caller does not do
It has no voice, so the host reads each number aloud. It does not print or show player cards, check cards, or track patterns. The drum always counts from 1. In the free version a banner sits at the top of the screen; the chevron on the banner hides it for that screen, and Remove Ads removes ads altogether.
