Poker Timer, the blind clock for your home tournament

Tournament & Home Game

Poker Timer puts the phone in the middle of the table: the current blinds and ante fill the screen in huge type, a countdown runs to the next level, and a sound marks the raise so nobody has to referee it. It works for home, club or office games played with real chips, not for anything online.

What can you do with Poker Timer?

Run the clock

Pick a structure and tap START. The screen shows the level (for example Level 3 of 12), the small and big blind, the ante when there is one, the countdown and a preview of the next level. When time runs out, the clock moves on by itself with a two-note tone and a vibration, no tapping required.

Previous, +1:00, Restart and Skip sit under the clock. Skip or Previous by accident and an Undo button holds the line for 5 seconds, that is the fix. We set it that short on purpose: long enough to catch a slip, short enough that it never gets in the way of the real clock.

Choose or build a blind structure

Five structures ship with the app: Hyper-Turbo (5-minute levels), Turbo (10), Standard (20), Deepstack (30) and Long Weekend (45), each with one break after the sixth blind level. Or type your own levels, antes and breaks in the editor. Standard works well for mixed groups: fast enough that nobody's bored, slow enough that a bad beat doesn't end the whole night.

Split the prize pool and keep a record

The Payout Helper multiplies players by buy-in and splits the pot over 1 to 6 paid places, to the cent, so nobody does that math on a napkin at midnight. Every finished tournament lands in History, where you can log the winner, players, buy-in, a note, a location and photos.

Quick start

  1. Open Poker Timer. On the home list, tap Standard under Built-in Structures.
  2. Put the phone or iPad where every player can see it and turn the volume up.
  3. Tap START. Allow notifications if you want level alerts while the phone is locked.
  4. Tap PAUSE for a long hand or a drink run, then RESUME.
  5. At the end, tap Split the Prize Pool on the Tournament Complete screen to pay the winners.

Free, and what Pro adds

Free to download, and the free tier covers more than most: the full clock, Turbo, Standard and Deepstack, one custom structure and the History, with ads outside the clock screen. Nothing ever interrupts a level or break that is counting down.

Pro is a subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase. It adds unlimited custom structures, Hyper-Turbo and Long Weekend, the Payout Helper, and the Midnight and Crimson themes, and it drops all ads. Skip Pro and you can still watch one ad per session to open up the two bonus structures or the Payout Helper.

Privacy, offline use and permissions

There is no account, and no server sits in the middle of any of this. Structures and history stay on your device. The clock, the editor and the History all run with no connection; ads, purchases, the ad unlock and naming a place need internet.

  • Notifications: asked the first time you tap START, only to alert each level change while the app is in the background.
  • Location: only if you tap Add Location on a saved tournament. One reading, then it stops.
  • Tracking: asked once, only to personalise ads in the free version. Say no and everything else still works the same.

What it does not do

Poker Timer is a clock and a payout helper for games played face to face. No online or real-money play. It counts totals at the table (entries, players left, rebuys, add-ons and chips) but does not follow individual players or stacks. No Apple Watch, Mac, Android or TV app either. To get it on a TV, mirror the screen the normal way.

Questions people ask about Poker Blind Timer Clock

Is Poker Timer free?
Yes. The clock, three built-in structures, one structure of your own and the History are free with ads. Pro removes ads and adds unlimited structures, two extra templates, the Payout Helper and two colour themes.
Do ads appear while the blinds are running?
No. The clock screen never shows ads while a level or break counts down. Free users see a banner on the home list and in Settings, a full-screen ad after finishing a tournament, and sometimes one when returning to the app with no clock running.
Does it work on iPad?
Yes, it is one app for iPhone and iPad, and the numbers get bigger on the larger screen. An iPad propped up in the middle of the table is the easiest big display.
Can I use it without internet?
The clock, structures, editor and History work offline. You need a connection for ads, buying or restoring Pro, the watch-an-ad unlock and naming a location.
Is there real-money gambling in the app?
No. It times your game and does the payout arithmetic, nothing else. No cards dealt, no wagering, nothing to bet inside the app itself.

Free and Pro

Free

  • the full tournament clock (start/pause/resume, Previous, +1:00, Restart, Skip, Undo, automatic level changes, warning and level-change sounds, haptics, keep-screen-on, Lock Screen Live Activity, level-change notifications in the background)
  • the three built-in structures Turbo, Standard and Deepstack
  • one custom structure of your own (create, edit, duplicate levels, add breaks); duplicating a built-in to customise it also counts as that one structure
  • the tournament History with notes, winner, players, buy-in, location and photos
  • the Classic Green display theme
  • Structure Generator: players, starting chips, level length and game length give a blind structure with an estimated end time; 'Start Now' without saving, or 'Save Structure' (counts as the one free custom structure)
  • -1:00 button next to +1:00 to correct the level clock

Pro

  • unlimited custom structures (free limit is 1)
  • the Hyper-Turbo and Long Weekend bonus templates, permanently
  • the Payout Helper, permanently
  • the Midnight and Crimson display themes
  • no ads of any kind

Pro is optional. Everything in the free list works without it.

What's new in 1.1

• Split the prize pool straight from the finish screen — no backing out to hunt for the calculator. • Every poker term checked by hand in 32 languages: blinds, antes and payouts now read like poker. • The one-structure limit explains itself instead of jumping straight to the price list. • Pro stays on when you lose signal, and two full-screen ads no longer land back to back.
