How to add a tally counter widget to your iPhone Home Screen
Put the current count on the Home Screen to skip opening the app just to check it. With Pro, open Settings, then Home Screen Widget, and pick a counter under Show on widget. Add the widget, small or medium, from the Home Screen — it only shows the value; you still count inside the app.
What the widget does
It shows the live value of one counter on your Home Screen — today's dhikr rounds, the row you're on, a stock count — without opening the app. Taps on the Apple Watch update it too, once they reach the iPhone.
A tasbeeh counter on the widget shows its cycle information; a standard counter shows its number.
Set it up
- Open Tally Counter and tap the gear on Counters to open Settings.
- Tap Home Screen Widget and choose a counter under Show on widget. The Preview shows how it will look.
- Go to the Home Screen, touch and hold an empty spot, and tap the add button.
- Search for Tally Counter, choose the small or medium size and add it.
- If it does not show the new value right away, touch and hold the widget and choose Edit Widget.
Why is it locked?
It's a Pro feature, no way around it. Without Pro the setup screen just says so, and a widget already sitting on the Home Screen shows a locked message instead of a number. Pro also brings unlimited counters, 8 more colours, and no ads.

Widget troubleshooting
- The widget says Open Tally Counter to choose a counter for this widget: no counter is picked yet. Open Settings, then Home Screen Widget, and choose one under Show on widget.
- The widget says Tally Counter Pro unlocks this widget: Pro is not active on this device. If you already bought it, tap Restore Purchases in Settings.
- The number is behind: open the app once so it saves the latest value, or touch and hold the widget and choose Edit Widget.
- You deleted the counter the widget showed: pick another one under Show on widget.
Fast ways to count without the widget
Since the widget is for reading, pair it with a quick way to count:
- Count with volume buttons: with a counter open, press a volume button.
- Apple Watch: tap the screen or turn the Digital Crown.
- Tasbeeh mode: the whole screen is one button.
