Tasbeeh after prayer with a tasbeeh counter app: 33, 33, 34

Finger counting slips easily after isha, especially with a drifting mind. Tap + and choose Tasbeeh after prayer (33·33·34): it creates Subhanallah (33), Alhamdulillah (33) and Allahu Akbar (34) as three silent counters. Open each one, tap anywhere on the screen, and a double vibration tells you when a cycle is done.

Why use a tasbeeh counter app after salah?

After the obligatory prayer many people recite Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah and Allahu Akbar, often as 33, 33 and 34, for 100 in all. Finger counting slips the moment your mind drifts, and a bead tasbih is not always on hand when you need it. The phone is already in your pocket.

Tally Counter gives each phrase its own counter, keeps the count in cycles, and never makes a sound. The app sets up the counts; it does not give religious rulings, so follow the practice you were taught.

How to set up the 33·33·34 counters

  1. On the Counters screen, tap + at the top.
  2. Choose Tasbeeh after prayer (33·33·34). Three counters appear: Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah and Allahu Akbar.
  3. Open Subhanallah. Almost the whole screen is the button: Tap anywhere to count.
  4. At 33 the count returns to 0, a stronger double vibration plays and Cycle complete appears for a moment.
  5. Go back to the list, open Alhamdulillah and do the same, then Allahu Akbar, which completes at 34.
  6. For other dhikr, tap + and then More dhikr to add Astaghfirullah or Salawat, both with a cycle of 100.

How does the tasbeeh counter count cycles?

The big number is your position inside the current cycle, with the cycle length under it, for example of 33. Each tap adds one bead. When the next bead would reach the cycle length, the number goes back to 0 and the completed-cycle count goes up by one. The screen shows the cycle you are on and a line such as Completed cycles: 3.

Worked examples, computed with the app's cycle rule
SituationWhat you tapWhat the screen shows
After-prayer preset33 on Subhanallah, 33 on Alhamdulillah, 34 on Allahu AkbarEach counter back to 0 with 1 completed cycle; 100 taps in total
One counter set to 33100 tapsCycles complete on taps 33, 66, 99; 3 completed cycles, 1 bead into Cycle 4
Counter set to 99 with a goal of 3 cycles297 taps3 completed cycles, count at 0, status Goal complete
Counter set to 33, at 0 with 2 completed cyclesUndo onceBack to 32 with 1 completed cycle

The last row matters: Undo can cross back over a finished cycle, so if you tapped once too many right after a double vibration, one Undo fixes it.

Rounds with a cycle goal

Open a tasbeeh counter, use Edit from the ... menu, and set a cycle goal, for example 3 rounds. The screen then reads Cycle 1 of 3, and once you finish the third round it shows Goal complete. Leave it at No goal to count open-ended rounds.

Counting without looking: vibration, volume buttons and the watch

  • Every bead gives one light vibration; the end of a cycle gives a stronger double one. You can keep your eyes lowered the whole time.
  • If you prefer a physical button, turn on Count with volume buttons in Settings under Feedback. While a tasbeeh counter is open, either volume button adds one bead.
  • On an Apple Watch, open the same counter and tap the screen or turn the Digital Crown.

History in the ... menu lists every bead by day with the time, plus Total taps, Current and Cycles, so you can see what you did after each prayer.

Common mistakes

  • Changing Cycle Length on the Allahu Akbar counter. The picker only offers 33, 99 and 100, so 34 only exists through the preset — if you tap that picker by mistake, delete the counter and add the preset again rather than trying to get back to 34.
  • Running out of room: the free version holds 3 counters, the preset needs three, so if 1 counter already exists, only 2 of the 3 get created before the Counter limit reached sheet shows up.
  • Turning off Haptic Feedback (same switch as Vibration in Settings) kills the one thing that makes this work with your eyes closed.

Is there a tasbeeh counter app without ads?

Tally Counter never shows an ad while a counting screen is open, so nothing interrupts your dhikr. The free version does show ads elsewhere, on the counters list and sometimes after you reset or delete a counter. Any Pro purchase removes them.

Questions and answers

Does the tasbeeh counter make any sound?
No. Tasbeeh counters are always silent, even with Sound turned on. They use vibration only.
Can I count 34 on a normal tasbeeh counter?
Not from the picker, which offers 33, 99 and 100. The Allahu Akbar counter from the after-prayer preset is set to 34.
How do I start again for the next prayer?
Swipe right on a counter in the list and tap Reset. The count and cycles go back to 0 and the history is kept.
What does the tasbeeh counter show on the list?
Each tasbeeh row reads Tasbeeh · cycle followed by the current bead and the cycle length, for example 12/33, so you can see where you stopped before opening it.
