How to print multiple photos on one page from iPhone or iPad
Open Photo Collage, choose a Layout (2×1, 2×2, 3×2 or 3×3), tap Select Photos and then Print Collage. That's 2 to 9 photos on one Letter page instead of burning a sheet per photo.
Why one photo per page wastes paper
Print Photo, like the Photos app itself, sends one picture and the printer fills a whole page with it. For a school project, a fridge sheet of family photos, or proofs you're picking between, a grid on one page is both cheaper and faster.
How to print several photos on one page, step by step
- Open Printer App and tap Photo Collage on the Home tab.
- Under Layout, choose the grid (columns × rows): 2×1, 2×2 (the default), 3×2 or 3×3.
- Tap Select Photos and pick up to as many photos as the layout has cells. They fill the grid in the order you picked them.
- Move the Spacing slider (0 to 24 pt, default 8 pt) to set the white gap between photos.
- Check the Preview. Empty cells print as light grey boxes; Clear starts over.
- Tap Print Collage, or Share / Save PDF to keep the page.
How big is each photo?
The page is US Letter with a 0.5 in margin, leaving the photos a 7.5 × 10 in area to share. Each cell works out to that area, minus the gaps, divided across the grid.
| Layout | Photos | Each photo (inches) | Each photo (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2×1 | 2 | 3.69 × 10.00 | 93.8 × 254.0 |
| 2×2 | 4 | 3.69 × 4.94 | 93.8 × 125.6 |
| 3×2 | 6 | 2.43 × 4.94 | 61.6 × 125.6 |
| 3×3 | 9 | 2.43 × 3.26 | 61.6 × 82.8 |
At Spacing set to 0 pt, a 2×2 cell grows to exactly 3.75 × 5.00 in. Print on A4 and iOS scales the Letter page to fit, so those sizes shift a little.
Tips and common mistakes
- Photos get cropped to fill their cell — tall cells (2×1, 2×2) suit portrait shots, and a landscape photo dropped into a tall cell loses its sides.
- The order is the order you tap them in. Pick your photos left to right, top to bottom, in the sequence you actually want on the page.
- There's no fixed print size like 4×6 or 5×7 here; cell size is set by the layout, full stop.
- Need each photo on its own page instead? Photos to PDF is free and gives one page per photo.
Questions and answers
Can I print multiple photos on one page from iPhone for free?
Photo Collage gives you one free use; after that it needs Pro. Photos to PDF stays free always, but it only does one photo per page.
How many photos fit on one page?
Up to 9, with the 3×3 layout. The others hold 2, 4 or 6.
Can I print 2 photos on one page?
Yes — pick the 2×1 layout. Each photo lands around 3.69 × 10 in on Letter, so portrait shots suit it better than landscape.
Does it work on iPad?
Yes. Printer App runs the same on iPad, same collage layouts, nothing missing.
