Free photo collage maker with no watermark

Any of CollageCraft's 288 layouts, saved at HD (1,080 px) or 2K (2,048 px), free, no watermark or logo stamped on the image. The catch is ads inside the app while you edit — not marks left on your picture after you've shared it.

Why do so many collage apps add a watermark?

Plenty of free collage apps stamp their name in a corner and charge you to take it off. It's a sales tool more than a feature: every collage you share becomes a free ad for the app, and the stamp is irritating enough that a fair number of people just pay to lose it.

CollageCraft skips that move entirely — the export sheet says so on screen: "No watermark, ever, even on the free plan." Pro is still there, but what it's selling is resolution, background removal, print and transparent export, and silence from the ads. Not your logo removed, because nobody put one on.

How to make a collage with no watermark

  1. Open the Templates tab and choose a layout. The number on each card is how many photos it holds.
  2. Tap the photo-plus icon at the top of the editor and select your pictures; they fill the empty slots in order.
  3. Adjust: drag a photo to reframe it, pinch to zoom, and use Spacing, Corners and Border for the gaps and edges. BG changes the background behind the photos.
  4. Tap the share icon to open Export.
  5. Under Quality, pick HD or 2K. 4K and Poster carry a crown because they are Pro.
  6. Choose JPEG or PNG under Format, then tap Save to Photos.

That preview at the top of the Export sheet is the actual final image, pixel for pixel — nothing gets added after you tap Save.

What size is a free collage?

The quality sets the longest side of the image; the other side follows the layout's shape. Worked out with the app's own rule for three common layouts:

Free export sizes (HD and 2K) by layout shape
Layout shapeHD (free)2K (free)
Square (1:1)1,080 x 1,080 px2,048 x 2,048 px
Two side by side (2:1)1,080 x 540 px2,048 x 1,024 px
Story (9:16)607.5 x 1,080 px1,152 x 2,048 px

2K is more than Instagram, Facebook or WhatsApp will even display. HD is fine for a quick message; 2K is the safer choice for anything you might crop later or print small.

So what is the catch, really?

Ads, plainly. A banner, a native ad sitting among the templates, a full-screen one after every third export (3rd, 6th, 9th, and on), and occasionally one when you reopen the app. Watch one short video in the Export sheet and all of it goes quiet for 30 minutes — useful right before a batch of several exports.

Pro removes the ads and adds Remove BG, 4K and Poster sizes, print sizes and transparent PNG. For social media only, the free plan genuinely covers it; Pro mainly matters once printing is involved.

Is every layout really free?

Yes, even the ones with a crown on the card in Templates — right now that's only a badge, and those layouts open, edit and export on the free plan exactly like the rest. AI Layout and AI Crop are free too.

Where this trips people up

  • Saving a screenshot of the editor instead of exporting. It's smaller, and it drags the toolbar into the image; Save to Photos gives the clean full-size picture.
  • Choosing HD for a story layout: a 9:16 collage at HD saves at only 607.5 px wide. Use 2K, or the story preset in Export for Social.
  • Expecting transparency in a JPEG. JPEG always fills the background in; transparent PNG is a Pro option.

Questions and answers

Is there really no watermark on the free version?
Correct — no collage, carousel slide or social export gets a watermark or logo, free plan included. Pro adds features; it has no watermark to remove.
Do I need a subscription to save collages?
No. HD or 2K saves free, no subscription, no account needed. Pro is optional, and you can buy it as a subscription or a one-time purchase.
Why can't I pick 4K?
Because 4K (4,096 px) and Poster (6,144 px) are Pro only. Tap one on the free plan and you'll land on the upgrade screen; HD and 2K stay open to everyone.
Does the app work without internet?
Yes. Making and exporting a collage works fully offline — the ads just don't load, and nothing else changes.
