How to organize your loyalty cards so the right one is always on top
Mark the cards you reach for most as Favorite, give each one a colour, then use the menu at the top right: Sort By name, company or date added, Filter By favorites, expired or expiring soon. All free. Only Recent and usage tracking sit behind Pro.
Why organize cards at all?
Five cards fit on one screen without scrolling. Twenty-five do not, and it's easy to scroll past a card at the till when it has no colour to catch the eye. A few minutes of setup fixes that: colours, favorites, a sort order, and every card is reachable in one or two taps.
What sort orders are there?
Tap the filter menu at the top right of the main screen and open Sort By.
| Sort By | Order | Free? |
|---|---|---|
| Name | A to Z by card name | yes |
| Issuer | A to Z by company | yes |
| Date Added | newest card first | yes |
| Last Used | most recently marked as used first | yes, but needs Pro's Mark as Used to have dates |
| Most Used | currently the same order as Last Used | same as above |
Honest note: the app does not count how many times you use a card. Most Used sorts by the last-used date, so it gives the same result as Last Used. Without Pro, cards have no last-used date and those two orders do not change anything.
What filters can I use?
| Filter By | Shows | Free? |
|---|---|---|
| All | every card | yes |
| Favorites | cards marked as favourite | yes |
| Expired | cards whose expiry date has passed | yes |
| Expiring Soon | cards expiring in the next 30 days | yes |
| Recent | cards marked as used in the last 7 days | Pro |
Expiry dates come from photo import: when you add a card from a photo and the app finds an expiry date printed on it, it saves it. Cards without a date never appear under Expired or Expiring Soon. Without Pro, Recent shows as Recent (Pro) in the menu and opens the Pro offer instead.
How do I set up favorites, colours and search?
- Open a card, tap Edit and switch on Favorite. Favorites also drive the Favorites filter and the Watch's Show Favorites Only option.
- In the same form, set a Background Color close to the real card. With Pro you can also set the Text Color.
- Add tags such as "groceries", "pharmacy" or a family member's name with Add a tag.
- Pull down on the list to reveal Search cards. Search matches the card name, the company, notes and tags.
- Switch between list and grid with the buttons at the top left. The Grid Columns stepper in Settings sets 1 to 4 cards per row.
How does usage tracking work in Pro?
On a card's detail screen, Pro users see Mark as Used. Tapping it saves today's date as Last Used, which powers the Recent filter and the Last Used sort. Free users see Track Usage with Pro in its place. Opening a card from the widget or the Watch does not record a use.
Tips
- Sort by Name and lean on favorites for the everyday cards. It is the fastest setup that costs nothing.
- Pick a Category when you add a card; the list then shows its icon next to the name, which helps more than it sounds like it would.
- Check Expiring Soon now and then for anything that needs renewing, a club or library card especially.
- Tags are for whatever is not in the name — useful for marking which family member a card belongs to.
