Can I add steps manually to Apple Health?
Yes. Health accepts step data from any app you give write permission, and PokeT-Walk exists for exactly that. A preset, a typed number or a distance button saves steps and walking distance together, and a count is laid out over time as a walk instead of landing as one lump.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no login and no sign-up. A PRO purchase belongs to the Apple Account that bought it, so a new device gets it back through Restore Purchases in Settings.
Does PokeT-Walk work offline?
Writing steps to Apple Health works with no connection. Ads and in-app purchases need internet. On the free version, if no ad can load, the walk is still logged after a short wait.
Where do the steps go?
Into the Health app on your iPhone or iPad, as steps and walking plus running distance. Other apps can read them only if you have given those apps Health permission and they accept steps from this source.
Will every app count these steps?
Not necessarily. Some fitness apps read everything in Health, others only the phone's own sensor or their own device, and each refreshes on its own schedule, which can take hours. PokeT-Walk cannot change another app's settings.
Is there a free version?
Yes. Logging is free, with a short ad before each log. PRO removes all ads and adds the 10KM and 12KM buttons, the 10,000 steps preset and Custom Walk. Typing any count into Custom amount is free.
Is there a daily limit?
Natural Pace, on by default, holds entries to an average of 110 steps a minute, so early in the day little fits: at 00:30 about 1,650 steps. You can switch it off. Even then a single entry cannot spill past midnight and cannot be dated ahead of the clock.
How soon do the steps appear?
In Apple Health, straight away. An entry left on now ends about 15 minutes before the present, because the iPhone's own pedometer is still publishing those minutes. Other apps pick the steps up whenever they next read Health.
Is PokeT-Walk a pedometer?
No. It does not count steps with the phone's sensors or GPS. It writes the steps, distance or walk you enter, and reads Health's total only to show it to you.
How accurate are the steps it writes for a distance?
They are estimates from a fixed rule: 1,300 steps for each walking kilometre, 1,000 once the pace reaches 7 km/h. Your real stride depends on height and speed, so when you have a real count from a pedometer or watch, enter that number in Custom amount instead.
Can anyone tell the steps were added by hand?
Yes. Open any of these entries in Health and PokeT-Walk is named as the source. Use it for walks you actually did and your phone missed.
Why does it need Apple Health permission?
Writing steps and walking distance is the whole job of the app, and reading today's steps lets it show your total. A third permission, for workouts, appears only after you switch on the workout option in Settings, and declining it never blocks your steps.
Why does it ask to track me?
Only so ads can be personalised. If you say no, nothing else changes. Free users still see ads either way.
My steps showed up, then the day's total dropped. Why?
When two sources cover the same minutes, Health's daily total keeps only one of them, and the iPhone usually ranks first. That is why the app keeps entries about 15 minutes in the past and never writes on top of its own earlier entries.
Can I undo a mistake?
Yes, for entries the app wrote. In Statistics tap the undo icon on a recent walk, or tap See all and use the pencil to change the count or the undo icon to remove it from Health.
Does it change my Apple Watch rings or calories?
No. The app writes steps and walking distance only, not active energy, and it has no watch app. Apple Watch Activity rings are not affected.
Is there a steps widget?
Yes, on iOS 16 or later: small and medium Home Screen widgets and three Lock Screen styles. They show the steps the app added today, a ring against your daily goal and when they last reached Health.
I bought PRO and still see ads. What should I do?
Open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account that made the purchase. If ads still show after that, tap Contact Support in the Help section.
