How to edit or delete steps you added to Apple Health
Apple Health has no edit button for a step entry, but PokeT-Walk can change or remove the entries it wrote. Go to Statistics, tap See all, then the pencil to set a new count, or the undo icon to take the walk out of Health.
Can you edit steps in Apple Health?
Not directly. A step sample in Health can be deleted, but not changed, which matters if an extra digit ends up in a logged count. To fix a number, PokeT-Walk does both halves for you instead: it deletes the samples it wrote in that walk's time window, then writes the new count across the same window. The walk stays at its original time rather than jumping to now.
How to change the number of steps in a walk
- Open Statistics and tap See all in the Recent Walks section. History opens, grouped by day with a total for each day.
- Find the entry and tap the pencil icon.
- In Edit walk, type the new count in Steps.
- Tap Save. The old samples go and the new count is written in the same time window.
How to remove manually added steps
- In Recent Walks or in History, tap the undo icon beside the entry.
- The prompt Remove from Health? explains that the steps and distance of this walk will be deleted. Confirm with Undo this walk.
- The entry leaves the app's list and its samples leave Health. Tap Open Health if you want to check.
Example: 5,000 steps that should have been 4,000
You logged 5,000 steps with Quick, which filled a 45.45-minute window with 45 samples. Editing it to 4,000 keeps that window and rewrites 45 samples of 78 to 100 steps, exactly 4,000 in total. The distance becomes 4,000 ÷ 1,300 = 3.077 km.
| Before | After | |
|---|---|---|
| Steps | 5,000 | 4,000 |
| Time window | 45.45 min | 45.45 min (unchanged) |
| Samples | 45 | 45 |
| Steps per sample | 97–125 | 78–100 |
| Distance | 3.846 km | 3.077 km |
What the app cannot change
- Steps recorded by the iPhone, a watch or another app. PokeT-Walk only ever deletes samples it saved itself, so a walk your phone counted in the same window is left alone. For other sources, use the Health app.
- Entries made with very old versions of the app that did not store a time window.
- A walking workout saved with Also save as a walk. Undo removes the steps and distance, not the workout entry, which you can delete in the Health app.
- Entries older than the last 100: History keeps only those, so older ones cannot be reached from the app.
