How to track your vaping habit: puffs, patterns and a streak

Cigarette & Vape Counter tracks vaping as a habit, not just a cost: log every puff with one tap, see your pattern over the last 7 days, and watch a streak build on every day you don't vape. It is manual counting, since no vape reports its puffs to a phone, but it puts the count, the pattern and the streak in one free app.

What should a vape tracking app actually track?

A vape has no pack and no fixed size. There's no number for "how much" until you start tapping +1; before that it's just "a lot" or "not much today", which tells you nothing a week later. A tracking app has to replace three things by hand: a way to log each puff, a way to see your pattern over several days, and a way to measure progress if you're trying to vape less. Cigarette & Vape Counter does all three with one tap, no device pairing and no account.

Set it up to track vaping

  1. Go to Settings, Tracking Mode, and choose Vape (or Both if you also smoke cigarettes).
  2. On Home, tap +1 under Quick Add after each puff, +5 after a session, or Custom for any number up to 99.
  3. Watch the Today card: it adds up today's puffs and, once you set a price in Cost Settings, spent today.
  4. After a few days, open Statistics to see your pattern, and check Current Streak on Home to see your progress.

Your daily puff pattern, not just today's total

Statistics, set to 7 Days, turns your taps into a pattern: a Daily Consumption chart with one bar per day, and a Summary with the figures that matter.

Example: a week of logged puffs in Statistics, 7 Days
Figure in the appValueHow it is worked out
Daily puffs, oldest to today150, 140, 130, 110, 100, 90, 80Your taps, grouped by day
Total800Sum of the 7 days
Daily Avg114.3800 ÷ 7, one decimal
Best Day80Lowest day
Worst Day150Highest day
TrendDown 35% from previous periodFirst 3 days average 140.0, last 3 days average 90.0

The trend compares the oldest half of the window with the newest half, so a falling number here means the week itself is tapering off, before any streak even begins.

Build a streak while you cut down or quit

Current Streak counts the consecutive calendar days with nothing logged, counting today while it is still empty, starting no earlier than your first entry. A second line keeps your longest run in view, shown as Best: %lld days.

Example: a streak building over three empty days
DayPuffs loggedStreak shown
3 days ago900 (something was logged)
2 days ago01
Yesterday02
Today, so far03 — Current Streak

Life happens, but there is no grace day built into Current Streak itself: logging anything breaks it, and the Streak Shields shown on this card do not change the streak calculation in this version.

Free, Premium, and what it cannot do

  • Tracking Mode, Quick Add, the Today card, 7-day Statistics and Current Streak are all free, with no account and no internet needed to use them.
  • It is manual counting: you tap for every puff. It does not pair with a vape, read a disposable's built-in counter, or track nicotine strength or millilitres used.
  • If you are cutting down rather than stopping, know this before you rely on the streak: Current Streak only counts days with nothing logged at all, so a day under a lower target still breaks it. A free Reduction Plan tracks a falling daily target instead, which fits cutting down better than the streak does.
  • Premium (a subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase) removes ads and adds a monthly Streak Shield refill, plus history and Statistics ranges beyond 7 days.

Questions and answers

Can you track a vape?
Only by tapping for each puff yourself; no commercial vape reports its puffs to a phone app, including this one. Cigarette & Vape Counter logs what you tap and turns it into a daily count, a 7-day pattern and a streak.
Do vapes have trackers?
Some devices show a puff count on their own screen, but that number does not leave the device. The app cannot read it, so you re-enter your own count by tapping +1 (or more) each time you vape.
Is there a free vape tracking app?
Yes. Cigarette & Vape Counter is free to download, and logging, the 7-day Statistics pattern and the streak are all free. Ads appear after your first week; Premium removes them and extends the history.
Is there a vape tracker app to help you quit?
This one is built for that: Current Streak counts smoke-free days, and a free Reduction Plan can lower your daily puff target first if you would rather taper than stop in one day.
