LandMeasure traces any piece of land in under a minute, corner by corner on the satellite photo, and gives you the acreage without a tape measure. LandMeasure does that for any piece of land: tap the corners on a map or walk the edge with GPS, and it gives you the area, perimeter and length. It is for landowners, farmers, realtors, landscapers, fencers and roofers who need a working figure, not a legal survey.

What can you measure with LandMeasure?
- Measure Area: the area and perimeter of a lot, field, paddock, lawn or roof footprint. Each tap on the map adds a corner and the numbers update live.
- Measure Distance: an open line such as a fence run, a hedge or a drainage ditch. The app adds up the segments without closing the shape.
- Walk Mode: record the boundary by walking it with the phone. GPS fixes worse than 10 m are ignored and the track keeps recording with the screen locked.
- Projects: keep each property in its own project with a name, notes and a color, and see Total Area, Perimeter and Total Distance for it.
Areas show in square meters, square feet, square yards, square kilometers, square miles, hectares or acres; distances in meters, feet, kilometers, miles or yards. Pick one of each in Settings > Units and every measurement you have already saved is simply redrawn in the new unit.
Quick start
- Open the Map tab and tap the round map button at the top right to switch to Satellite or Hybrid.
- Zoom in on the land you want to measure. You do not need to be standing there.
- Tap Measure, then Measure Area. If no project is selected, the New Project sheet opens first: type a Name and tap Create.
- Tap each corner in order around the edge. Area, Perimeter and Points update after every tap.
- Tap the green checkmark to finish and save the measurement in the project.
Example: the five corners of an irregular 2.91-acre lot give 11,769.9 m², 1.18 ha or 126,689.5 ft², with a perimeter of 1,362.3 ft (415.2 m).
Free, and what LandMeasure Pro adds
Download and measuring are both free: areas, distances, Walk Mode, every unit, every map style. The catch is the free version only keeps one measurement per project, and it shows ads.
The optional LandMeasure Pro (weekly or yearly subscription, or a one-time Lifetime purchase) adds Unlimited Measurements, the Full Export Suite (GPX, KML, GeoJSON and CSV files), PDF Reports and No Ads. Free users can also unlock one file export by watching a video with Watch ad for 1 free export, when one is available.
Privacy, internet and permissions
No account, nothing. Projects and points live only on your device; there is no cloud sync, so a new phone starts empty. Export anything you want to keep before you switch devices.
Location is used while the app is open, to show where you are and to record Walk Mode. Background location runs only while Walk Mode is recording. If you refuse location, you can still measure by tapping on the map.
The map tiles need internet; the imagery comes from Apple Maps and is not cached. GPS and the maths behind it do not. Out in a field with no bars, Walk Mode still gives you a real area, just on a blank grey background instead of a photo.
Limits and who it is not for
- It measures the flat area seen from above: no slope, roof pitch, elevation or volume.
- It cannot find property lines and has no parcel data, address search or file import.
- A finished measurement cannot be reopened for editing; you delete it and measure again.
- It runs on iPhone and iPad only.

• A plot crossing the 180th meridian came out as 340,975 hectares instead of one • A shape that crossed itself could show a believable but wrong area; now it says so instead of printing a number • The area now carries the margin your GPS actually allows • Settings, export and the project sheets opened nothing at all • Exporting was broken twice over: the share sheet never appeared, and on iPad it could close the app • KML polygons were rejected by Google Earth and QGIS, and a comma in a project name broke the CSV • Three features that do not exist were removed from the purchase screen • Pro is no longer lost when you open the app in the field with no signal • The permission prompts and 142 texts were in English in every language
