How to see your daily steps history on iPhone

Open the History tab: This Week shows a bar for each of your last seven days with data, and the Streak Calendar shades the last 30 days by how close each came to your goal. A Sunday evening check shows whether the week was any good before it rolls off the chart.

Where can I see my daily steps on iPhone?

The full record lives in the Health app, on the Steps page, with day, week, month and year views, plus an hour-by-hour bar chart for any single day you tap into. It is detailed, but it takes a few taps and does not relate your days to a goal.

Step As puts the last week and month on one screen. It uses the same Apple Health totals, so every source counts: your iPhone, your watch, other apps and the steps you logged.

How to see your weekly steps in Step As

  1. Open Step As and tap the History tab. The screen title reads Steps.
  2. Look at This Week: one bar per day for the last seven days that have data, each with its weekday and total.
  3. Scroll down to the Streak Calendar for the last 30 days.
  4. Pull down to refresh after logging or walking (iOS 15 and later).

Reading the This Week chart

Bars are scaled to the highest day of the week. Totals of 1,000 or more are shortened to thousands with one decimal.

How daily totals are labelled

Reading the Streak Calendar

Each day gets one of four shades of orange, depending on its total compared with your daily goal. A line above the grid counts your active days, and a Less to More legend explains the colours.

Shades with a 10,000-step goal
Day totalFraction of goalShade
1,8000.18lightest
4,0000.40light
7,5000.75medium
10,0001.00full (goal reached)
12,5001.25full (goal reached)

Under a quarter of the goal is the lightest shade, a quarter to half is light, half to just under the goal is medium, and the goal or more is full. The calendar always shades against your current goal, so changing it in Settings re-shades every day already on the grid, not only the ones still to come.

Limits worth knowing

  • It covers about the last 30 days. For older history, use the Health app.
  • Days with no Health data at all are not drawn as squares.
  • It shows daily totals, not single entries, so you cannot tell which steps came from Step As or spot a double log here. The Health app lists each entry with its source.
  • If the calendar is empty you will see No steps logged yet — your streak calendar fills in as you go.
  • Both views read Apple Health directly, so a day with the app closed all day still shows up, as long as some device recorded steps for it.

Questions and answers

How do I see past daily steps on iPhone?
In the Health app, open Steps and switch between day, week, month and year. For a quick view of the last 7 and 30 days against your goal, use the History tab in Step As.
Why does History show more steps than I logged?
It shows your whole Apple Health total for each day, from every source. The steps your phone or watch counted are included, not only the ones added with Step As.
Can I edit a day in the History tab?
No. The History tab only reads totals. To remove an entry, delete it under Steps in the Health app.
Does changing my daily goal change old days in the Streak Calendar?
Yes. The shading always compares each day's total with the goal you have set right now, so raising or lowering it in Settings redraws the whole 30-day grid, not just the days ahead.
