What can you do with it?

Convert

• Pick a video from your photo library on the Videos tab, or tap + to open a video or audio file from the Files app.
• Drag the Start and End handles on the waveform to keep only the part you need.
• Choose the output in Select format: M4A, MP3, WAV, CAF, AIFF, AIFC or MP4. For MP3 you also pick the bitrate under Quality.
• Convert several library videos in one go with Select and Batch Conversion.

Edit what you converted

• Cut a clip of up to 30 seconds into an iPhone ringtone (.m4r) with the Ringtone Creator.
• Join clips end to end with Merge Audio on the Tools tab.
• Slow a recording down or speed it up from 0.5x to 2.0x in Speed & Pitch, without changing the pitch.
• Set Title, Artist and Album on M4A and MP4 files with Edit Metadata.
• Share any file by AirDrop, Messages or Mail, or save a copy to Files or iCloud Drive.

Quick start

1. Open the app and go to the Videos tab. Allow photo access to see your library, or just tap + and pick a file instead.
2. Tap a video. The editor opens with a player and the waveform of its sound.
3. Drag the trim handles if you only want part of it.
4. Choose a format in Select format (MP3 with Quality 128 kbps is a safe choice for sharing).
5. Type a name in Audio title and tap Convert to Audio.
6. The finished file opens on its own screen and is kept in the Audio tab, from where you can play, share or export it.

Free, and what Pro adds

Free, with ads. The free tier gives 3 conversions a day from the editor, MP3 at 64 or 128 kbps, batches of up to 3 videos, 1 ringtone a day, merging of 2 files and the speed control. Batch runs sit outside that 3-a-day count, which is the one thing people miss when they first open it.

Pro (weekly, monthly, yearly, or a one-time lifetime unlock) drops the daily caps and the ads, and adds MP3 at 192, 256 and 320 kbps, a 10-band Equalizer with 11 presets, a basic Noise Reduction filter, pitch shift up to 12 semitones, merging past 2 files with Crossfade (0.5s), and cover artwork in the metadata editor. Skip Pro if all you need is the odd MP3 from a video; it earns its price once you're batching or merging regularly.

Privacy, offline use and permissions

Converting, trimming, merging, effects and ringtones happen on the device. Nothing goes up to a server, there's no account, and the app doesn't run one of its own. The only time it reaches the internet is to load ads on the free tier and to talk to the App Store for purchases. One catch: a video that lives only in iCloud Photos has to download first, so that first conversion needs a connection even though the conversion itself doesn't.

• Photos: to list your videos and read the one you pick. The app never adds, edits or deletes anything in your library. Without it, the + button still opens files from the Files app.
• Notifications: asked when your first batch starts, only to tell you when it has finished.
• Tracking: only decides whether the free version's ads are personalised. If you say no, you still see ads, just not personalised ones.

Limits and who it is not for

• No downloading from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or any link, ever. It only touches files already sitting on your device.
• It opens what iOS opens: MP4, MOV and M4V video, plus the common audio formats. MKV and most AVI files refuse to open, which trips people up with an old camcorder export.
• No FLAC, OGG or AMR output.
• Every conversion runs through an AAC (M4A) step first, so WAV and 320 kbps don't add back quality a phone video never had.
• MP3 tags can't be edited, and you can't delete or rename files inside the app itself.
• iPhone and iPad only. No Mac, no Apple Watch, no Android.
